Common questions
Are you a fully virtual CPA firm?
Yes. We are a fully virtual tax planning CPA firm based in Dallas-Fort Worth. You get proactive planning, secure document sharing, and year-round access to your CPA without driving to an office, and we work with business owners across Texas and remotely in other states.
Can we work together in Spanish?
Yes. Nadia is a bilingual CPA, so we handle your tax planning, preparation, and advisory in English or Spanish, whichever you are most comfortable with.
What is the difference between tax planning and tax preparation?
Tax preparation records what already happened and files your return. Tax planning looks ahead: we build a written strategy before year-end to legally lower what you owe. We do both, but the planning is where the real savings come from.
Do you work with S-corporation and small business owners?
Yes. Small business and S-corp owners are who we serve best. For S-corps we set a reasonable salary, run payroll and distributions correctly, and plan all year so you capture the full tax benefit without raising IRS risk.
When is the best time to start tax planning?
The earlier in the year, the better. Most strategies must be in place before December 31 to count for that tax year, so the sooner we start, the more we can save. You can begin any time, even mid-year.
How can a small business owner pay less in taxes?
The biggest savings come from planning ahead, not just filing. We review your entity setup, how you pay yourself, retirement contributions, deductions you may be missing, and the timing of income and expenses, then build a written plan to lower your bill legally before year-end.
Do I need a CPA, or can I just use tax software?
Software files the return you give it. It does not sit down with you mid-year and find ways to lower next April’s bill. If you own a business or have a more complex return, a CPA who plans all year usually saves you far more than software costs.
How much does a tax planning CPA cost?
It depends on your situation and how involved your taxes are, so we price each engagement to the work. Most owners find the tax we help them save outweighs the fee. The first step is a quick fit call, with no cost and no pressure.
What can I write off as a small business owner?
Common deductions include home office, vehicle and mileage, business meals, equipment, software, retirement contributions, and self-employed health insurance. The right answer depends on your business, which is what we map out in your plan so you claim everything you are entitled to and nothing you are not.
When should my LLC become an S-corp?
Often once your business is consistently profitable enough that the self-employment tax savings outweigh the added payroll and filing costs. There is no single magic number, it depends on your profit and how you pay yourself, so we run the math with you before you elect.
